Celebrating Twenty Years of Growth & Adaptation

Celebrating Twenty Years of Growth & Adaptation

24 July 2020

As we mark our twentieth year,  we look back with a smile and a sense of pride as we reflect on how far we have come and how we have evolved within the ever-changing nature of the electrical industry.

Standing by one another as teammates,  we have positively impacted various sectors within Australia and the Indo-Pacific through our skills development initiatives as well as the complex electrical engineering and construction projects we successfully delivered.

Navigating through turbulent industry changes has certainly not been easy, but it has most definitely been worthwhile. Facing adversity head on and overcoming challenges together has allowed us to grow and thrive as a company.

We established ourselves in 2000 with a vision to be known  as the “go to” provider for complex electrical works, across the greater Asia Pacific region. From the get-go, CEQ was on a mission to achieve sustainable growth whilst investing in the development of employee skills and capabilities.

On-site, successfully maintaining our reputation for quality, consistency and  performance over twenty years is no coincidence. Delivering industry leading electrical solutions as we have upheld our commitment to safety has consistently propelled us in a positive and progressive direction. This on-going growth has led to a strong reputation with some of the Indo-Pacific’s  most established and high profile companies.

From Strength to Strength

As time has ticked by, CEQ has built a solid platform which has served various industries such as Infrastructure, Food & Beverage, Speciality Construction and Mining.  A Managed Services team was also created in order to provide the skills of expert Australian and UK trained tradespeople for large scale, highly complex projects throughout the Asia Pacific region  i.e. Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand, India, Fiji and PNG.

To compliment this business offering and ensure smooth delivery of every critical path we take, the electrical team have been further equipped to handle all situations including shutdowns, assistance with practical completion dates, defects completion lists, accelerated MSB manufacturing, defects liability period assistance and productivity enhancement.

Powering the Australian and Indo-Pacific Industry

Over the course of twenty years, we have successfully delivered over 700 projects to completion, for 114 clients, both domestically and in the Asia pacific region. This accomplishment is most certainly a reason to pat each other on the back and cheers to what’s ahead of us now.

Our journey began in Queensland, Australia and from there, we have taken on projects in 5 Australian States and Territories, within a variety of industries.

Our success in this area became apparent quite early on in the game due to the expansion and diversity of our clientele and the reputation CEQ was forming across the board.

The Hail Creek Industrial Upgrade, among many other projects, began sparking the interest of international partners – and before we knew it, we were packing our bags, ready to embark on Specialty Construction and Mining initiatives in Papua New Guinea.

Setting Ourselves Apart

Our collaborative efforts with the APTC and our Papua New Guinean connections has allowed for a Skills Development program which offers national tradesmen the opportunity to upskill their electrical qualifications to an Australian accredited qualification. Through this, we have trained a number of PNG locals who are taking the lead, getting the job done and stepping up into leading roles that cover Logistics, Procurement and Engineering.

Through this, we have now expanded into three additional countries including Vanuatu, Fiji and the Solomon Islands. We are honoured to be paving the way and helping others in order to foster economic development in Australasia and the Pacific.  Creating positive and social impact is truly where we gain our greatest personal and professional satisfaction.

Hard Work Pays Off

With all of the development that has taken place both on and off-shore, we have been fortunate enough to be supported by three permanent offices filled with reliable and dependable staff.

Since the commencement of CEQ, we have engaged 50 apprentices and trainees through our skills development program. Certainly something we are proud of.

This financial year alone we have successfully completed  2000 hours of training. This achievement, along with ensuring smooth delivery of each project, has required a tremendous amount of coordination- thank you to each and every one of you.

Here’s To Our Future

Whilst we can confidently say our focus is very much on continuing to deliver high standards of electrical engineering across Mining and Infrastructure projects, our skills development program with the ATPC is a top priority.

We see so much opportunity to bring Australia and the greater Asia Pacific region together through professional pursuits and endeavours – and we are determined to make that happen.

CEQ stands for Family, Safety & Mental Fitness. We are committed to Quality, we are Resilient, we are Adaptable and we are willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

“Congratulations on twenty impactful years CEQ. Here’s to the next twenty!”
