It’s Mental Health Week & CEQ is all in on changing the stigma surrounding mental illness
This October, CEQ Group is recognising Mental Health Week (MHW), focusing on the company’s core value of ‘Mental Fitness’.
With the 2021 theme being ‘take time for mental health’, the aim of MHW is to promote the importance of mental fitness and wellbeing and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
Promoting and supporting positive mental health is at the forefront for CEQ, with the company continually investing in its corporate partnership with Mental Health charity, LIVIN.
As part of this partnership, All CEQ staff members both in Australia and throughout the Pacific participate in the LIVINWell Education and Stigma Reduction Program to collaboratively promote positive Mental Health and that ‘it ain’t weak to speak’.
CEQ Managing Director, Ryan Johnson, said mental health is one of the most important issues faced by our society, and businesses like CEQ can play a much more important role to combat.
“CEQ has taken steps to align mental fitness into everything we do as a business,” Ryan said.
“Every employee has the entitlement to a positive mental health environment, and we are constantly reviewing our processes and programs to improve mental health.
“Through our mental health actions such as changing our pre work take 5s and Safety Work Method Statements to include Mental Health questions, paid mental health days, employee support programs and training of mental health first aid officers, along with strong partnerships with organisations like LIVIN, we strive to send our employees home every day to their families safely and happily,” he said.
“We chose to partner with LIVIN as they align closely with our workforce demographic, provide hands on education and programs, and their vision aligns with our focus of mental fitness.”
LIVIN Partnership and Relationship Manager, Campbell Hall, said working with organisations such as CEQ is incredibly rewarding.
“CEQ’s approach to creating a culture that prioritises mental health is fantastic and aligns perfectly with LIVIN’s mission to break the stigma of mental health,” Campbell said.
“The incredible support from CEQ and our other corporate partners are the lifeblood to us as a charity.
“Their contributions ensure we can continue deliver our LIVINWell Mental Health and Stigma Reduction Program into schools all around Australia.”
CEQ are putting on a staff morning tea on Thursday, 14 October 2021, bringing employees together as an initiative of MHW to recognise positive mental health.
