This project is for the design and construction of a new motor control centre (MCC) for the Sludge Treatment Plant at the Capalaba Water Treatment Plant. Along with the new MCC, a new switchroom demountable building was required to accommodate the new MCC and a complete upgrade of all cabling and accessories to the new client standards.

The outcome of this project was to provide our client the flexibility in designs for future expansion of the plant and sludge plant. This future expansion will be a vital necessity for the security of the South-East corners’ water supply.

A key challenge during this project includes the successful change-over of the sludge plant to the new MCC, with minimal disruption to the plant’s operational activities during the low season for the South-East demand for water.
